Paul Menard Daytona Testing Report – Day 3

Daytona Beach, FL – Paul Menard and his Menards Racing team were on track for the third day of testing at Daytona International Speedway today.  As weather loomed in the Florida sky, NASCAR officials decided to test through the day with no lunch break.  Therefore, the all day session yielded just one ranking for the driver of the No. 15 Chevrolet – and Menard wrapped the final day of testing looking strong in 13th place on day three.

While the rain never did come, NASCAR ended testing at 4:00pm and the team packed up for a return to North Carolina.  Menard’s overall ranking was 16th quick, which was cumulative of both sessions over the course of six days on track.

“Testing is always good – not just the on track stuff, but spendingtime with the guys away from the track is good for team chemistry.” Menard said.  “Last year, we led almost every drafting session here and we didn't get to race in the 500, so just because we're not on top of the chart doesn't mean we can't run up front during Speed Weeks.  I definitely feel like we learned a thing or two and I think everyone has a really good feeling about what's to come. The real test will come next week at Las Vegas and then at California, but in the meantime it’s good to end this Vegasround of pre season preparation on a high note.”

Menard’s Wednesday speeds shaped up as follows:

Full Day Session:

Car #15A - 13th (187.844 mph)
Car #15B - 51st (180.766 mph)
