BROOKLYN, M.I. (August 18, 2008) – Paul Menard turned in a top-25 performance in Sunday’s 3-M Performance 400. After qualifying 36th, Menard and Crew Chief Doug Randolph worked throughout the 200-lap event to improve the handling of the No. 15 MOEN/Menards Chevrolet.
“We were searching for grip in the early part of the race,” Menard said. “I was loose in and loose off and it made my Chevrolet at handful to drive.”
Menard was shown in the 39th position when the first caution flag flew on lap 18. The overall the wall crew gained it’s first of many positions on pit road while performing the four tire fuel and adjustment stop. In all, Menard gained seven spots on pit road thanks to his super fast pit crew.
“The guys had great stops today,” Menard said. “I think we gained spots on pit road during every stop we made today.”
While Menard was up to 15th place by the halfway point of the race, he continued to battle his racecar through the center of the corners. On lap 140 Menard went one lap down to the leaders and was shown in the 30th position.
