NASHVILLE RECAP

ASA Late Model Series

Nashville, Tennessee - Charlie Menard brought home a second-place finish at the Music City Spring Clash 200 ASA Late Model event in Nashville Sunday.

Driving his Floors of Distinction-Menards Ford Fusion, Menard posted the quickest time in qualifying, but was forced to start eighth due to the series mandatory invert of the top eight qualifiers. Menard led the race and battled eventual winner Derek Thorn to the end, but had to settle for second in what he deemed a very successful weekend.

"Before the weekend started, I told crew chief Chad that I never much cared for Nashville, as I have never ran very well there," said Menard. "I guess he took that to heart and put together an awesome car for me, the whole team was solid all weekend, and after being fortunate enough to catch the pole on the invert, we ran well all race. Happy with the 2nd place and the momentum that it gives in the points championship."Vegas
